I have work to do on this...after rereading this and reviwing some of my reading it is apparent that I continue in some areas of my life to play the victim. I''ll keep coming back.
Thank you Alston. Codependency has hurt my life as well. I see you coming a long way in your recovery journey. I don’t know if it is helpful, one of the Al-Anon pamphlets that helped me with it is The Merry-go-round Called Denial. It talks about the different roles we have and take on in the family illness. After reading it a couple of times it led to a big breakthrough of awareness for me.
The ground breaking work of Pia Melody about codependency is in her book Facing Codependency
